How may we help you?

If you are encountering any issues with your Atlas i8 speakers, this comprehensive troubleshooting guide will assist you in diagnosing and resolving potential issues.

1. Power Supply Issues

  • Ensure that the Mains power voltage does not exceed 250V. An incorrect power supply can impact the performance of your speakers.

2. Heat Source Proximity

  • Verify that there are no heat sources, such as radiators, stoves, or heat-producing apparatus (including amplifiers), in close proximity to the speakers. Overheating can affect the speakers' functionality.

3. Power Cycling

  • Turn off the speakers using their dedicated switch.
  • Unplug the speakers from the mains power.
  • Wait for a few seconds, then plug them back in.

4. Check Connections

  • Inspect the XLR/TRS or AES incoming connections.
  • Verify the USB connection to your computer.

For AES3 protocol:

  • Use 110-ohm shielded twisted pair (STP) cable with XLR connectors up to 100 meters.
  • Ensure the cable is designed for AES connection to prevent signal deterioration.
  • Use AES connection to bypass the DA converter of the interface and the AD converter of the monitor.

For USB connection:

  • Try connecting the speakers to different USB ports.
  • If issues persist, change the USB cable.

5. Selecting Input Source

  • Confirm that the proper input source is selected from the speakers' display menu.
  • Choose "ANALOG" for TRS/XLR input.
  • Choose "AES IN 1" or "AES IN 2" for digital XLR input.

6. Sample Rate Adjustment

The monitor should automatically lock to the sample rate of the source signal.

If not, and when using AES/EBU connection, manually adjust the sample rate:

  • For source rates of 44.1, 88.2, or 176.4kHz, set the Atlas sample rate to 176.4kHz.
  • For source rates of 48, 96, or 192kHz, set the Atlas sample rate to 192kHz.

7. Analog Connection Levels

When using an analog connection, ensure that the Analog In level matches the output level of your audio interface.

8. Factory Reset

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, perform a factory reset.

  • Access the Settings menu by holding the Rotary knob.
  • Execute the Factory reset option (note: this action will delete all saved presets).
