How to Disable SIP
*This article concerns older legacy interfaces such as:
Orion Studio HD, Orion Studio, Zen Studio, Zen Studio+
SIP or System Integrity Protection is a part of macOS Big Sur and Monterey's framework. It prevents the initiation and execution of unauthorized code for those versions of Apple's operating system.
Unified Driver versions 3.33 and older fall under that category for newer Macs.
However, a handful of legacy devices still benefit from utilizing those older driver versions, the Orion Studio HD being among them.
To disable SIP you will need to boot your computer in recovery mode (similar to changing your kernel extension management as described in this article https://support.antelopeaudio.com/en/support/solutions/articles/42000094423)
* This can be performed before or after installing one of the older drivers, but the driver itself will not be running until you complete the steps below.
1. Restart your computer in Recovery mode. (After shutting down the system, wait 10 seconds and then press and hold down the power button on your Mac to enter Recovery mode)
2. Launch Terminal from the Utilities menu.
3. Run the command: csrutil disable
4. Restart your computer.
If you ever need to reenable SIP
1. Restart your computer in Recovery mode.
2. Launch Terminal from the Utilities menu.
3. Run the command: csrutil enable
4. Restart your computer.
