How may we help you?

Just like other active microphones, Antelope Audio's modeling microphones are susceptible to humidity and water in general. The gold-sputtered condenser membranes used in our microphones make them resistant to corrosion. However there are other components in the design that are particularly vulnerable. Due to the circuitry-heavy design, poor performance and hardware malfunctions are possible in humid conditions if certain precautions are not taken.

Here is how to ensure your modeling microphone is safe and secure:

  • If you have trouble maintaining constant levels of temperature and humidity in your recording environment, using an air conditioner and/or dehumidifier is a good idea.
  • When not in use, keep your microphones in a dry place and use desiccants. Proper maintenance of the desiccants is needed to ensure they are dry. Use pop filters and/or windscreens when recording vocals to avoid breathing moisture into the microphone body.
  • Ensure proper acclimatization when moving the microphone from one place to another and significant temperature variation occurs. This can apply when you are unboxing the microphone for the first time.
